Dr. Linda Isaacs — Individualized Nutritional Protocols
Linda L. Isaacs, M.D., is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She offers individualized nutritional protocols for patients with cancer and other degenerative diseases, as well as protocols for those who wish to maintain their health. She worked with her colleague, Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, for more than twenty years, and during that time they published articles together about the remarkable results they saw in various types of illnesses. Overview of the Treatment Program
The treatment protocol has three parts: diet, supplements, and detoxification. Patients must comply with all three areas of the treatment for the greatest chance of success.
The prescribed diets vary from patient to patient, ranging from nearly vegetarian to diets requiring red meat 2-3 times a day. All patients must eat organic foods, prepare fresh vegetable juice to drink, and stop eating processed foods such as white flour and white sugar. Coffee and alcohol must also be discontinued.
If you have been living on “fast” food and microwaveable frozen items from the grocery, you may find food preparation on this program to be time-consuming, but adherence to the prescribed diet is critical for success. View the time as an investment in your health.
The supplement protocols are highly individualized for each patient, based on their health problems and biochemical makeup. The prescribed supplements include a variety of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and animal glandular concentrates.
Pancreas Product (For Cancer Patients): The recommended pancreas product, made from pig pancreas and containing naturally occurring enzymes, was developed specifically for use in this program. For Dr. Gonzalez' article on the rationale for the use of pancreas product in cancer, published in the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, click here.
Overall, cancer patients will consume 150-200 capsules a day, including nutrients as well as pancreas product. Some doses are taken with meals; some must be taken an hour or more away from any food, and some are taken in the middle of the night. Non-cancer patients might consume in the range of 80-100 capsules a day, generally with meals, the exact number depending on their health status and medical problems.
On this therapy, some patients develop muscle aches and pains, malaise, or other “flu-like,” symptoms. These symptoms may result from release of waste materials and stored toxins as the body's repair processes work. “Detoxification” refers to procedures such as the coffee enema, which are believed to enhance liver function and in turn, the processing and excretion of metabolic wastes. The coffee enemas are done twice daily, and most patients find they feel better with them. They are beneficial and critically important, we believe, for all patients, as the removal of these metabolic wastes is important for the healing process.
